ISO disk image

An ISO image (.iso) is a disk image of an ISO 9660 file system. ISO 9660 is an international standard originally devised for storing data on CD-ROM. More loosely, it refers to any optical disc image, even a UDF image.

Play back those full videos you have saved as ISO or Image files on your computer with MPlayer for Windows from MULDER

If disk image format is ISO type you can extract with Winrar.
For VCD movie files:
IF disk image format is non ISO type e.g. Bin & Cue format you may burn to a Compact Disc ReWritable (CD-RW) first. Then extract by copying MPGAV folder from CD-ROM to hardisk .
-Import the movie files(Dat)in the MPGAV and convert to desire output format in TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress or convert to DVD with ConvertXtoDVD

Convert various CD/DVD-ROM images to ISO format

Along with the large capacity hard disk popularity, people were already used to copying compact discs to CD/DVD image files, generally used is the famous ISO 9660 international standards format, therefore CD/DVD image files are called ISO files. Because the ISO file retained complete data information of the compact disc (including compact disc boot information), you were allowed the convenience to use commonly used CD/DVD burning software (for example CDBurnerXP Pro & Nero-Burning ROM ) to record the disc with your CD-R/RW or DVD-R/RW over and over forever, it can also be used directly through Virtual CD/DVD-ROM drive software (for example Daemon-Tools ) .

PowerISO & Magic ISO for CD/DVD image file creating/editing/converting tool and a bootable CD/DVD maker , it can directly edit the CD/DVD image file and extract files and folders from it, as well as directly make ISO files from your CD/DVD-ROM or hard disk. At the same time, you can maintain the ISO bootable information, thus creating your own bootable CD/DVDs. You now have the power to make and edit your own ISO files, and then burn them to CD/DVD for your own needs.

How to download

PowerISO is a powerful CD/DVD image file processing tool, which allows you to open, extract, create, edit, compress, encrypt, split and convert ISO files, and mount these files with internal virtual drive. It can process almost all CD-ROM image files including ISO and BIN.

Main Features:
Support almost all CD/DVD-ROM image file formats(ISO, BIN, NRG, CDI, DAA and so on).
Note: DAA(Direct-Access-Archive) is an advanced format for image file, which supports some advanced features, such as compression, password protection, and splitting to multiple volumes. It can be handled directly just like other formats, such as ISO, BIN, ...

xp_emegencyutil.exe creates alternate copies which viruses will not able to intercept.

To use: Download the xp_emergencyutil.zip file and save it to your hard drive. Double-click the xp_emergencyutil.zip file and extract xp_emergencyutil.exe to your hard disk. To run the EXE just double click it, there is no installer. You will have the option of running the programs automatically, after the copies are created.

Operating Systems: Windows® XP and Windows® Server 2003 only. Requires VB 6 Runtime Libraries, included in Windows® XP.

2) ShutdownXP Enforcer

Shuts down your system in the twinkle of an eye. I use it in normal circumstances without problem when I have to rush but it is still advisable to use it when an application that refuses to close, a system freeze, etc..

Create keyboard shortcut keys just in case your mouse freeze too.

A very powerful tool to immediate Shutdown or Restart Windows 2000 and XP Operating Systems' based computers (the last chance before the Reset button).

Use it only if you have serious reasons not to follow the ordinary Shutdown/Restart procedure (i.e. an application that refuses to close, a system freeze, etc.).
It's a System Tray Application and uses a very small amount of resources when running.
It gives you the ability to create a Shutdown and a Restart shortcuts on your Desktop for the occasion of a System's Tray failure.

* Limitations: No limitations

HijackThis: A general homepage hijackers detector and remover. Initially based on the article Hijacked!, but expanded with a lot of other checks against hijacker tricks. It is continually updated to detect and remove new hijacks. It does not target specific programs/URLs, just the methods used by hijackers to force you onto their sites.
As a result, false positives are imminent, and unless you are sure what you're doing, you should always consult with knowledgable folks before deleting anything.

a) Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

b) When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log button.
c) Press that, save the log, load it in Notepad, and copy its contents. Most
of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.
d)Then go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/ where you'll get expert help.
e)Just Sign in, or post as a guest, and go to the Spyware and
Hijackware Removal section. Press "new topic", explain your problem, and

9) Windows Worms Doors Cleaner v1.4.1
Little tool to disable DCOM, Locator, NetBIOS, UPNP, and MESSENGER
NOTE:
Most of the worms, in particular the most famous, use known vulnerabilities in Windows services which are enabled by default and that can't be disabled via the OS's configuration.
Even with these services patched with Microsoft security fixes, they are still exposed to the Internet at large ready to be exploited by the next exploit.

These ports/services are DCOM RPC (listen on port 135), RPC Locator (port 445), and eventually NetBIOS (ports 137/138/139) which cause obvious security risks. RPC Locator has first been patched (Microsoft Security Bulletin MS03-001), but another exploit has followed (Microsoft Security Bulletin MS03-007). These services are useless for personal home use, and can be disabled safely. Since NetBIOS is often used in home LANs, the following tool enables you (by default) to disable NetBIOS to automatically start, and to start it manually in command line (on demand). Of course, you can totally disable it too.

Redirecting Hotmail

Read & delete your mails in MSN Hotmail without logging in directly.

All softwares listedhere (IzyMail, GetMail 4.0, FreePOPs, POP Peeper & Thunderbird2) are Gmail compliance.
To enable POP in your Gmail account & configuration info refer Gmail with POP Email Client

Mozilla Thunderbird 2
Download Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 for Windows, English (6.4MB

Thunderbird supports using POP and IMAP mail servers for fetching/reading new messages. It does not support webmail. If you want to use webmail (or WebDAV or HTTPMail) with Thunderbird you need to use an extension or an add-on that essentially makes it emulate a POP or IMAP account.

Extension

The WebMail extension for Thunderbird enables access to Yahoo, Hotmail, Lycos, MailDotCom, Gmail, Tiscali, and Libero webmail using Thunderbird. It has a dedicated thread in the extension/theme releases forums.

The WebMail extension is also useful when a firewall blocks access to a POP or SMTP server. For example, if your firewall only allows connection to port 110 for POP and port 25 for SMTP you can't connect to Gmail's mail servers. But you can still use Gmail using the WebMail extension since it uses port 80 with http to send and receive messages. The FreePOPs add-on could also be used to workaround the firewall but it doesn't support sending messages.

Add-ons

  • YPOPs!: Open source Yahoo! Mail proxy program for Windows, Mac, and Linux. See these setup instructions for Thunderbird (with screenshots) or the official instructions.
  • YoSucker: Open source Yahoo! Mail proxy program written in Perl.
  • Blue HttpMail: Open source C++ library.
  • hotwayd: Open source Hotmail proxy program for Linux.
  • MrPostman: (See Below 4) Open source proxy program for Yahoo!, Hotmail, Gmail, and more written in Java.
  • FreePOPs: (See Below 3) Open source extensible proxy with Lua scripting for AOL, Hotmail, Netscape, Yahoo! and more.
  • Poppeeper: (See Below 5) A freeware solution that allows you to use Hotmail, Mail.com, Lycos.com, RediffMail, Yahoo! Mail, and others, with your e-mail client.
  • Web2pop: (shareware $29 USD) supports Gmail, Yahoo, AOL and others.
  • Hotmail Popper: For MSN and Hotmail on Windows. Costs $17.50.
  • Izymail Online: (See Below 1) A subscription based add-on to access Yahoo!, MSN and Hotmail from Thunderbird as if its a IMAP account. You can create folders, and copy/move messages to/from folders. It also automatically creates and updates a mirror copy of your online address book.
  • Pop2OWA: Open source mail proxy program for Outlook Web Acces written in Visual basic.

Accessing other folders

Normally you can only fetch new messages from the inbox folder because the add-on (or webmail extension) emulates a POP3 server. However some add-ons let you specify that the contents of other folders should be transparently merged with the inbox folder when checking for new mail. For example, if you're running Ypops! to use Yahoo webmail right click on the Ypops! icon in the system tray, choose "configure", and then "download folders" to configure what folders get merged. This is completely transparent to Thunderbird, who thinks its fetching new messages from the inbox folder on a POP3 server.

If your add-on doesn't support this check whether your webmail GUI has an option to disable the bulk mail or junk mail folder. That would let you filter Spam messages using Thunderbird (if you want to).

GetMail 4.0

How To Forward ALL Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL And Live Mail Accounts With GetMail

Hotmail doesn't support alternative access methods to Hotmail accounts that have had WebDAV disabled Setup GetMail to forward mail from ALL Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, AOL Mail and even Windows Live Mail accounts (not to mention literally hundreds of other webmail only services). The key to getting GetMail to work with these accounts is to take advantage of the many "Web To POP3" software products available. As mentioned already, my favourite of these is a program called FreePOPS, which as an added bonus also happens to be free. So here we go, how to use GetMail to forward your Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, AOL and even Windows Live Mail accounts:-

  1. The first thing to do is download the latest versions of both GetMail For Hotmail and FreePOPS.
  2. Now install FreePOPS, simply follow the prompts, it is a standard installer and very straight forward.
  3. Installing FreePOPS does NOT start it running, in order to launch FreePOPS select Start>Programs>FreePOPS>FreePOPS. It might look as though nothing has happened, if you look carefully you should be able to see the green FreePOPS (FP) icon in the tray icon area of your destop (bottom right by default). Hovering your cursor over this icon will confirm that FreePOPS is running.
  4. Now install GetMail for Hotmail, again simply follow the prompts. You can either chose to run GetMail when it has installed or go to Start>Programs>GetMail>GetMail. ( In order to use a POP and/or SMTP server over SSL you will need to download 2 extra DLL files and save them in your GetMail or Windows/System directory. They are available from HERE
The 2 files you need are ssleay32.dll and libeay32.dll)
  5. One again it may look as though nothing is happening but the white GetMail icon should now be running in the tray area.
  6. Right click on the GetMail icon and select Settings from the menu
  7. This is the main settings page, if you have a paid up Hotmail or an old WebDAV enabled Hotmail account that you wish to forward then this is where you would enter those settings, we are not interested in this page.
  8. Click the small red (Extra Accounts) button at the top right, this will open the settings page where we can configure to forward from AOL, Yahoo etc

9 Enter the full address of the account you wish to forward from(e.g. you@yahoo.com, you@aol.com etc), your account
password, the address you wish to have mail forwarded to.
10 From the Account Type drop down list select FreePOPS.
11 For the SMTP server you will need to enter the details of a SMTP server that you have access to, I would
recommend using your ISP's. If you are note sure of the address of your SMTP server there is a SMTP Server list.
12 Click Save (You may optionally wish to delete mail from the server when it has been forwarded).
13 By pressing the Check For New Mail button the status will update and any mail should now be forwarded.

That's all there is to it really, if you see any problems such as a Local port erros, a 3rd Party Software Error or that mail can not be forwarded please read on for some tips on solving common problems:-

Local port is not responding, check 3rd party software and their logs
There has been a problem with the process of retrieving the mail. This is normally down to you having the wrong version of FreePOPS. You should check the FreePOPS site and make sure that you have the latest version as well as installing any PATCHES from the FreePOPS homepage. Regular software updates are a must.

I've checked the FreePOPS log and all I see is a timeout?
This timeout is occuring because GetMail for Hotmail has incorrect smtp server settings entered. The connection to FreePOPS is dropped first disguising what the actual problem is. Please double check your SMTP settings within GetMail.

... messages could not be forwarded on
The messages have been retrieved correctly but they could not be forwarded. This is a GetMail for Hotmail error and is notifying you that your SMTP settings are wrong. Double check your SMTP settings to make sure that everything is ok, it may just be the case that GetMail is not compatible with the authentictaion model that your SMTP server is using. If you are unable to get this working with a SMTP server you might want to try some local SMTPserver software. I've had success with QK SMTP Server which is both cheap and fast.

For a video guide to getiing GetMail for Hotmail working with FreePOPS, just make a donation and you'll receive access to the donators area.

If you are seeing socket errors then I'd advise that you check out the GetMail for Hotmail FAQ.

USB Windows

ReadyBoost is a technology built into Windows Vista that caches disk reads onto a flash memory device. It can work with USB memory keys, flash memory cards, such as SD and CompactFlash, and other types of flash devices. It caches all types of file reads, not just the working set, nor just DLL's or other persistent operating system data. ReadyBoost does not cache file writes—it's a write-through cache. That way, you never lose any precious data that's meant to be written to a hard drive. After all, a flash memory key can get yanked out of a system at any time. The cache itself is encrypted using AES-128 encryption, so no one can steal your flash memory key and casually browse through the cache file to see what you've been doing.

Bootable & Portable live windows

Excerpt from Author: Dietmar Stölting,

Advice: An USB-Stick refuses its function, after approximately 100.000 writing-processes. Assuming that the system needs only two writing-processes every second, an USB-Stick holds nearly 60 Days (8 hours of working).
Due to this disadvantage we advice you to use an USB-harddisk.

The following tutorial requires a valid licenced copy of Windows XP. Microsoft does not authorize the owners of Windows XP licences to run the licensed Windows version on more than one computer at a time. The registration of Windows XP also prevents running Windows XP on multiple systems. Due to that, you are allowed to use your licenced copy of Windows XP on only one computer. That does not prevent the use of WinUSB on another computer after shutting down the first system.

Bart's Preinstalled Environment (BartPE) bootable live windows CD/DVD

What is BartPE and PE Builder?

Bart's PE Builder helps you build a "BartPE" (Bart Preinstalled Environment) bootable Windows CD-Rom or DVD from the original Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 installation/setup CD, very suitable for PC maintenance tasks.

It will give you a complete Win32 environment with network support, a graphical user interface (800x600) and FAT/NTFS/CDFS filesystem support. Very handy for burn-in testing systems with no OS, rescuing files to a network share, virus scan and so on.
This will replace any Dos bootdisk in no time!

PE Builder is not a Microsoft product and does not create Microsoft Windows Preinstallation Environment ("Windows PE"). Using PE Builder does not grant you a license to Microsoft Windows PE or to use the Windows XP or Server 2003 binaries in a manner other than stated in the End-User License Agreement included in your version of Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Server 2003. Microsoft has not reviewed or tested PE Builder and does not endorse its use.

Licensing issues

In order to make a BartPE installation, your must have a properly licensed copy of the operating system. BartPE does not grant users who do not have a proper Windows XP/2003 license the right to use a BartPE installation.

More Info

Boot your BartPE/WinPE from a USB Flash Disk Drive!
Also supports USB HardDisks.
--------------------------
VistaPE is built to be a simple and flexible tool for System Administrators and Advanced users. VistaPE can be loaded onto a regular or crashed system and allows the user to get full access to all disks in order to restore data, to check for viruses, to fix system boot problems, to transfer data onto a network or through the Internet. VistaPE is meant to be a universal tool with the flexibility to grow with your needs.

Ever want to boot up into Windows XP via a USB memory key?
Well, now you can.
This is a miniature version of Win XP
Just enough to get your up and running
so you can restore from backup,
access your files, or do whatever you have to do.
Also go to your BIOS setting and change the BOOT sequence. Removable drive or
something should be at the top then try to reboot your PC.

All it takes is a minor error in the Windows Registry or a virus infection, and your operating system can become unbootable. But with a properly configured USB flash drive on hand, you'll always have a compatible replacement no further away than your pocket or keychain. In addition, the flash drive can
also provide a secure browser and virus scanner, and lets you take your favorite DVD burning and Office software with you wherever you may go.

All that's needed is a bootable USB Flash drive with at least 256 MB of storage capacity and a Windows Setup CD. Using the program Bart PE Builder (Freeware), you can install Windows XP on the flash drive, along with other software as needed (and as available space permits). Installation tips from anonymous contributors:-
extract to c:\temp
open command prompt and navigate to c:\temp.
start the livexp.bat and give two parameters to it.
first parameter is where the files are, the second is there you want to install it.
e.g.
livexp c:\temp\installdir i:\
change settings, format as needed, etc. by following the instructions as necessary.
to install it finally, choose menu item 5, then menu item 1.
let it finish, then choose menu item 5 and menu item 2.
done.

Correction
correction #1
no need for parameters - just start the batch file.
be sure to enter the target path first because the batch file seems to be buggy. if you start with the source path, you will end up in an infinite loop later.
correction #2
the 2nd install item will produce an error - you need to copy a boot.ini there manually. but i am not sure what this does... it seems to delete everything it installed in the 1st step and do it again...

Correction again
the installer batch file seems to be broken.
it does not install the boot sector a couple of other files.
let's check back after an update, shall we?

Vista: 64-bit or 32-bit Version? (x64 vs x86)

Updated: October 2008-Bugs and lack of apps plague 64-bit users

Many potential users of the 64-bit version of Vista are reluctant to make any OS changes after getting burned previously by 32-bit Vista. All versions of Vista have serious compatibility glitches, including problems with Office 2007, but the 64-bit release also suffers from a lack of applications written to take advantage of that version's ability to address more than 4GB of RAM. Complaints including but limited to what users view as important software that doesn't run under 64-bit Vista. On the list of software that users say is missing in action is a 64-bit version of Adobe's popular Flash player, Office 2007, which comes only in a 32-bit edition and ACT, a fairly popular contact-management program, will not work in 64-bit. Many popular third-party applications, such as Yahoo Music Jukebox Plus have bugs and incompatibilities abound.

Vince Heiker, a retired IT executive in the Dallas area cites working amongst the problems is "a jerky mouse cursor" that interprets mouse clicks in one spot on the screen as an action on a different spot. Detrimental particularly if you're a day trade where a click on the wrong spot can cost serious money. Heiker isolated the cause: the 64-bit version of Vista Ultimate failed to remove old device drivers. He discussed the problem with Microsoft support staff, but he says they could provide no solution. Heiker finally resorted to reinstall Vista to get rid of the hardware drivers. Another glitch Heiker continues to confront is his 64-bit Vista PC has accumulated some 23 million Registry entries with no solution to it by Microsoft support. Apparently, a Registry entry is made each time a 32-bit application tries to update the Vista-64 Registry ... duplicating Registry entries a huge number of times.

Today, there are 64-bit editions of both Windows XP and Vista — and there will also be 64-bit editions of Windows 7 when it ships in 2009 or 2010. The question is: When 64-bit computers become the norm for desktops, will all the software pieces be in place? Recast VIA on "Bugs and lack of apps plague 64-bit users"By Stuart J. Johnston.

Vista: 64-bit or 32-bit Version? (x64 vs x86)

For those with 64-bit processors, it seems obvious that installing the x64 version of vista would be ideal. The x64 version has increased security based around the 64-bit structure and programs compiled for 64-bit processors will likely run faster.

Downside of Vista x64 on a 64-bit system
1. Most hardware does not currently have 64-bit drivers.
2. In Vista x64, any driver that is not properly signed will not be able to enter the kernel and will fail to load.
3. Vista x64 currently does not backward support most x86 (32-bit) drivers.
4. Vista x64 does not support 16-bit software. 5. Very little x64 software currently exists.

Most users with 64-bit hardware should install the 32-bit (x86) version of Vista.
The performance gains promised by 64-bit will not be seen for years until 64-bit compiled versions of software is the norm.

Excerpt from Paul Thurrott page:-

As with Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, the various Windows Vista x64 versions represent a compromise of sorts and are, thus, not necessarily a good choice for most Windows users ... Yet. On the positive side, the x64 versions of Windows Vista are more secure and reliable than the 32-bit versions. The also support enormous amounts of system memory, which can be important in markets such as digital content creation, engineering, and even gaming. On the other hand, the x64 versions are also far less compatible than their predecessors, with both hardware devices and software, and these incompatibilities will ultimately make the x64 Vista versions less attractive to most users. Within the next few years, most Windows users will almost certainly move to x64-based PCs. But I'm guessing that the 32-bit versions of Vista will dominate throughout this product's lifetime because of compatibility issues. Think of Vista as the "line in the sand" for the x64 platform on the client: Post-Vista, it's likely that most compatibility issues will be resolved or rendered moot by new hardware and software versions that are more x64-savvy. By that time, migrating to x64 will be a no-brainer, and hopefully Microsoft will support upgrading 32-bit Vista versions to future 64-bit Windows versions.

AutoRuns for Windows

AutoRuns for Windows v9.32

By Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell

Published: July 24, 2008
Download Autoruns and Autorunsc (490 KB)

Control what to include or exclude in your startup programs appear at the desktop system tray.
Too many startups slow down booting. Help to detect malwares startup by allowing user to disable & delete, best at safe mode(See How to Start Windows in Safe Mode below). Configure in Autoruns toolbar\Options to check all 3 boxes.
This will coloured all safe results which does not require attentions. Narrow to general check in Logon and Internet Explorer tabs. The former allows you to disable/delete any programs startup & the later allows you to control the Browser Help Objects(BHO). Less or no undesirable BHO speeds up your surfing in Internet Explorer.

This utility, which has the most comprehensive knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs are configured to run during system bootup or login, and shows you the entries in the order Windows processes them. These programs include ones in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other Registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell extensions, toolbars, browser helper objects, Winlogon notifications, auto-start services, and much more. Autoruns goes way beyond the MSConfig utility bundled with Windows Me and XP.

How to Start Windows in Safe Mode

Windows XP

If Windows XP is the only operating system installed on your computer, booting into Safe Mode with these instructions.

  • If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power
  • Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected.
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
  • When you are finished with all troubleshooting, close all programs and restart the computer as you normally would.

To use the System Configuration Utility method

  • Close all open programs.
  • Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG in the box and click OK
  • The System Configuration Utility appears, On the BOOT.INI tab, Check the "/SAFEBOOT" option, and then click OK and Restart your computer when prompted.
  • The computer restarts in Safe mode.
  • Perform the troubleshooting steps for which you are using Safe Mode.
When you are finished with troubleshooting in Safe mode, open MSCONFIG again, on the BOOT.INI tab, uncheck "/SAFEBOOT" and click OK to restart your computer
Windows Vista

Windows Vista is similar to Windows XP for starting in Safe Mode.

  • Turn the computer on or Restart the computer
  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Boot Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected (the top option)
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
  • When you are finished with troubleshooting, close all programs and restart the computer as you normally would

If you can't figure out what a particular startup app does, right-click its entry in the Autoruns window and choose Search Online. This performs a Google search (rather than a Live search, which you might expect). Scour the results to find out whether the program has a legitimate reason for needing to run all the time.

If the Web search isn't helpful in rooting out a program's purpose, check the list of common startup applications maintained by Paul Collins to figure out what's getting started with Windows.

O&O Format Recovery

O&O FormatRecovery v4.1.1146

With the new O&O FormatRecovery 4, O&O offers the ultimate supplement to its

already impressive line of data recovery products. Guiding users with an onscreen

Assistant, O&O FormatRecovery 4 enables the recovery of deleted or formatted

partitions or hard disks to their pre-deletion form. File and directory information is

likewise restored.

Recovery of complete storage media
By use of a specially developed algorithm, O&O FormatRecovery 4 can search for

files on formatted or deleted disks and restore them even when the data are heavily

fragmented! In contrast to O&O UnErase 4 and O&O DiskRecovery 4, O&O

FormatRecovery 4 can also restore files with missing directories and configuration

information.
.
Special search algorithms
The advanced functions of the special search algorithms in O&O FormatRecovery

4 enable it to first detect and then ignore defective sectors. This means it can

recover data from storage media that is damaged but still accessible. The special

algorithm also supports the recovery of hidden or system files with their

corresponding attributes, making possible the recovery of empty file systems in

order to completely reconstruct a whole storage medium. The creation of a new

system is often therefore unnecessary and through its impressive functions and

operating methods, O&O FormatRecovery 4 can wholly compensate for the

absence of a system back-up
.
Supported storage media
O&O FormatRecovery 4 can recover data from all Windows-supported data storage

media. This includes, among others, internal and external hard disks (IDE, SATA,

SCSI etc.), digital cameras, MP3-Players, USB and Memory-Sticks, memory

cards, CDs, DVDs and diskettes. A data storage medium need only be recognized

by Windows a data recovery to be possible. For this reason, it is not necessary to

run a compatibility check in Windows to see of a certain medium is compatible.

The rescued data can then be saved on any windows supported storage medium,

provided it is not the medium from which the data was just recovered.

xB Browser is the free anonymous web browser. You're just a click away from anonymous surfing right now! The benefits of xB Browser is that it allows you to securely and anonymously surf the internet, bypass firewalls and website censorship. For enhanced privacy, xB Browser clears history of browing and deletes cookies when you close the browser.

The main advantages compared to other anonymous web browsers is that xB Browser requires no configuration, technical knowledge, or installation in order to achieve anonymity. xB Browser is open source so you can feel safe knowing what goes into xB Browser. Additionally, it is even portable on a USB stick so you can take it to work, school, or on vacation.

Pros: Torpark lives on as XeroBank Browser. It is based on Firefox 2.0.0.4 and above which is more secure (Torpark was frozen using FireFox 1.5.0.x) and has a number of significant incremental improvements to Torpark. XeroBank browser is better just as easy to use and you can choose what county you want your proxy address to be in..

Cons: The free Torpark and XeroBank Browsers despite being easy out of the box are slow because they use the Tor network.

XeroBank now offers paid services that don't use the Tor network resources - those run on XeroBank's own anonymity network and the speed is impressive.
